2017 Statewide SECC Kick-Off on August 18
The North Carolina State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) will launch this year's campaign on August 18 with a charity fair and lunch on Bicentennial Mall in downtown Raleigh. The annual event gives campaign leadership an opportunity to thank state employees for their commitment to charitable giving while also offering participating charities an opportunity to showcase their work and impact. Close to eight hundred state employees and retirees are expected to attend. Activities will include a charity fair featuring more than 80 SECC participating charities and a $5 sandwich lunch (cash only) catered by Pharaoh's.
Attendees are invited to participate in a charity scavenger hunt to be eligible for a drawing for a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and to enter a drawing to win one of three pieces of fine jewelry. Drawing winners will be announced through the SECC Facebook and Twitter accounts at 6 pm. Winners will also be emailed.
This year's campaign theme, Power of Giving, highlights the powerful difference that each donation makes as well as the tremendous power in the combined donations of all state employees. Last year's campaign raised more than $3.8 million pushing the total amount raised through the campaign to almost $104 million.
