2012 CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The 2012 Campaign raised $4.4 million, for a more than 5.5% increase.
  • A downward trend in the campaign was reversed:  The last increase in the campaign was in 2007.
  • 31 out of 51 statewide organizations (state agencies and university system groups) increased giving.
  • The university system increased giving by more than $180,000 over 2011 – a 7.2 % increase.
  • General government agencies increased giving also – by more than $50,000 or 3.3%.
  • Overall, the campaign succeeded in increasing number of donors by about 1,000.
  • The biggest increase came from UNC Chapel Hill, which increased giving by more than $111,000 during the 2012 Campaign.  Their "Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares - Tar Heels Give More" Campaign raised more than $894,000, representing the largest amount raised for any campaign in the SECC history. 
  • The second largest increase came from NC State University. Their "Wolfpack Gives Back" campaign increased giving by more than $58,000, exceeded its 40% participation goal and once again achieved the #1 per capita (Gold Chairman’s Award) for the largest university system organizations, raising over $647,000.

The Chairman’s Award of Merit is presented to the Departments and University System organizations that achieved the highest level of per capita giving (Total Amount Raised divided by # Employees) among similarly sized organizations.  The Gold Award is presented to the organization with the top per capita, and the Silver Award is presented to the organization with the second largest per capita for that category.
